Planning to see

Hereafter we will  This will be a place for our plans - of what we are planning to see in Taiwan. We will than compare our goals with what we have achived.

Forest Railway - into the jungle ?

Travelling with a historic train seems quite tempting ...Especially that this rail can take us on an amazing climb  from lowland rice paddies into age-old pine forests !!!! This is one of the most spectacular of the Taiwan's narrow gauge railways climbing from 30 up to 2274 meters in less than 4h - moreover we will travel through 4 vegetations !!!! ...Originally this railway was built to transport timber from the mountains on its way to Japan.

This journey seems to have only one disadvantage: departure hours are identical with those for coming back  -meaning that we will have to stay somewhere over the night.. Travel guide advises to stay in some kind of privet house, taking advantages of homemade prune wine ..... and  local hospitality of course. This is interesting as you can book something organized with a short tour guide, pick up from the station, three meals (home cooked of course) and accommodation.

This remains quite a challenge for my mind at this time - to put it somewhere in my schedule but  I will try ...

Teahouses

One of the most famous among Chinese traditions is related with the "tea cult" bringing to life an idea of tea bars - houses. To taste some of extraordinary teas and coffees, while respecting traditional way of preparation (we don`t know this yet ...) can be a fruitful experience - so I will certainly put in on our "must see" list ...
